IVF- Brent + Heather's Science Baby

Spende geschützt
Well, Hello everyone! We are Brent and Heather.

Like 15.5% of Canadian couples, we are dealing with Infertility.  (boo) We have been very open with the process and know that most of our friends and family already know but, here is our story. (I'll try to make it quick)

After we got married 5 years ago we made the decision to start the 'not trying NOT to'  start a family thing that most couples do. Nothing too crazy, no temperature taking or peeing on sticks in hopes of a happy face staring back at us saying...'it's time'. (weird)  We were chill about it all and pretty sure it would happen within the first year. (whoops)
After that first year, we started to get a bit more serious about it all and turned 'not trying NOT to' into 'TRYING TO'.  Anyone who knows us, knows that we took that, as we take all challenges, head on!
We did a full array of fertility tests in Germany and were assured that everything was normal and fine and that we should just keep on keepin' on.  So we did.
2 more years went by.  At this point we were spending a lot more time apart for work and were blaming our unsuccessful family making on just that.
(When the female part and the male part are in two seperate continents, it's tough to 'do the thang' that is needed to 'git er done'.)
So, we started the fertility testing process all over again in Canada.  Canada is a bit more...um...thorough.  After countless people at Mt. Sinai Fertility poked, prodded and stuck what felt like a news camera inside to investigate a pesky fibroid, we found no real concrete reason for our lack of conceiving.
So, after 5 years, those tests brought us to IVF.  (In Vitro Fertilization)

We're there. It's happening. In fact, we're half way through.
We have finished the 'egg retrieval' portion of the adventure. They have been fertilized in a dish and turned into embryos. 7 embryos, in fact. Frozen. Frozen in a freezer awaiting a surgery to remove that 'pesky fibroid' (small growth taking up precious uterus space).
We are going to thaw them and transfer them to a newly renovated uterus one at a time until one sticks and becomes a human. A science Baby.

A Science Baby that will cost $20,000.00.

Here's where the awkward part comes in....

We are not a couple who are comfortable with asking for help.  We are both very independant, strong people who agree that most things can be fixed with Gaffer Tape.... but...here goes....

If you find yourself wondering what to do with the change you found when you cleaned under your couch cushions? This is it!

If you ARE able to help us out, we would really appreciate it.

If you find that you can't donate but you want to show your support? no worries! Just send us one of those red heart things on Facebook, or a message saying hi!

Thanks for reading all of this jumbled mess.  We appreciate all of the support we have received and continue to receive.

Thanks,
Brent and Heather
