Brenda Cummings Spence Cook Scholarship

The Brenda Cummings Spence Cook Scholarship was established by Brenda's children, Patrick & his wife, Erin Spence along with Molly and her husband Michael Martin, at Mars Hill University(MHU) in Mars Hill, NC to assist those who are the first in their family to attend college. Brenda was an MHU student, later a professor there, and a proud parent of an MHU alum. Patrick, her son who graduated from MHU, now lives back in the town and is active with MHU's alumni work.
Brenda was a national leader in connecting local food systems to schools, in her role as Nutrition Director for Madison County schools. Your donations will honor her work and continue education in the spirit of community service.
