Coral Sculptures Exhibition By Paola Idrontino

Hi,

My name is Sara Lily Perez I'm an independent Berlin-based art curator whose main intent is to engage in a meaningful conversation on critical societal and environmental issues promoting human equality and unity. I'm looking to fund Paola Idrontino's Breathing Waves exhibition inspired by our ocean's coral life and its current state. With your help, this interactive exhibition will take place this summer at Galerie SLP,Bikini Berlin. During the opening, our visitors will be handed 3D glasses so they can experience this incredible masterpiece as if it were underwater.

About the artist :

Paola Idrontino is an Italian costume designer, textile artist, and photographer currently living in Barcelona. She lived in London for more than ten years, and in 2004 she completed a BA (Hons), in graphic design at Central St Martins.

Paola's passion for storytelling is combined with complex textile arrangements to create costumes inspired by grotesque creatures, and the beauty within nature. Her photographs express the affection for tales and myths, with references to a feminine world that becomes a protective deity of underwater creatures. Coral bleaching has been a central theme in Paola’s recent work and at the heart lies the focus of creating awareness in what is happening to our world’s oceans, in particular to corals.

Balancing the absurd with the deepest depths, the whimsical with the emotional her marine-inspired anthropomorphic creatures, wish to bring into question the relationship between humans and nature.  Paola Idrontino Website
