Hi my name is Brionna and I’m a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University. I major in accounting and double minor in leadership and communications. Here at EMU I’m apart of the Honors College, I’m the Co-VP of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and I’m the Treasurer of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
My goal to become a cultural competent leader is unforeseeable without experiential learning. Studying abroad to Ecuador May 17th-27th will allow me to embark on an opportunity of a lifetime. It will allow me to explore a new culture, gain new experiences, meet new people, gain new perspectives, and ultimately become a global citizen.
My goal is to return, being the representation and using my platform to encourage other students of color to travel abroad as well.
This course, Becoming Global Citizens, explores Ecuador from a multi-disciplinary perspective (not just education), with a particular emphasis on the idea of developing global citizens. Program highlights include visiting the best preserved colonial center in the world.Spending a day exploring the Mindo Cloud Forest. Traveling to the exact center point of the world. Also meeting students, staff and scholars at local universities.
The total program cost are around $4500 including tuition, travel, lodging, and fees.
Any and everything helps and will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for your time and gracious donations!
