Bre'ly Rain Herrald is 5 years old. She's a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and lives with her mother, Samantha Herrald in Swift Bird, SD.

On Janurary 8th, 2018, Bre'ly fell ill and was taken to the emergency room in Eagle Butte, SD. After some blood tests, she was life flighted to Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

After three weeks of endless testing and various treatments and diagnosises, the doctors finally had an answer. Bre'ly was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, known as ALL.

Our hearts broke.

Bre'ly started chemotherapy, steroids, and preventitive medications right away.

On Februray 1st, at a weekly Chemo appointment, the doctor informed us that more test results had returned from the Mayo Hospital, revealing that Bre'ly has a rare form of childhood cancer called Positive Philadelphia Chromosome Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

This new diagnosis requires an even more intense form of Chemotherapy than we expected in the beginning.

Bre'ly's family is reaching out for any help you can give.

Bre'ly's mother is a single mother of 5 children, whom she cares for and provides for by continuing to work and drive from Swift Bird to Eagle Butte (an hour drive) on a daily basis.

Bre'ly has Chemo every Thursday/ Friday for the next sevearal months, to get her into the phas of treatment called "Maintenence." Samantha and Bre'ly travel 5 hours each way to Sioux Falls for this treatment.

Bre'ly is a happy kid who loves unicorns, riding her bike, princess movies, arts and crafts, glittery things, the color pink, jumping on the bed (at home, not in the hospital), playing with her siblings, pretending she's grocery shopping, puzzles, horses, trolls, and playing games. She's excited to start Kindergarten next fall.

Bre'ly is still strutting down the hospital hallways like there's nothing wrong with her. We're certain that her energy and enthusiasm will help her heal.
