Braxton

Our family was recently hit with devastating news. That being that our 5 year old son, Braxton,  was diagnosed with a life threatening condition HLH, XLP-2.   There have been fewer than 100 cases reported nationwide. The only treatment for this condition is intense chemotherapy along with a Bone Marrow Transplant. This is an extremely rare condition and only about 14 transplants have been ever performed.

We have been extremely stressed and full of worry since we first received the news. After several months of trying to get insurance problems squared away we can finally proceed with our sons transplant at the hospital we feel most confident in, UCSF Benioff.

We are very fortunate that Braxton has a perfect sibling match in his 2 year old brother, but are still terrified for the transplant itself. It is a very risky procedure alone and then adding in his particular condition makes it even riskier.

We are hoping to raise funds so that we can take one less worry off our shoulders during this tough time. We would like for Terry(Braxton’s father) to be able to take this time off of work so he can spend this time with his son and wife instead. Braxton will need both parents present and all of the support he can get. It’s going to be a long road and the added stress of having to pay all of our home bills as well as the hospital bills and whatever else arises while living at the hospital for several months would make it even more difficult.
