Thank You Friends of Brandi Rushton

A Message from Chris.......as a mother and son take
their first steps together.......

I want to first and foremost apologize to all of you for a delayed response. I'm still overwhelmed by all this and struggle to find the words worthy enough to describe what your generosity means. Your contributions will be directly realized in Brandi's healing and recovery process, and any funds left over will be directly donated to the Arkansas Children's Hospital on your behalf.

We feel so honored by each of you, and how you reached out to us with prayers and support. We are blessed to be surrounded in your unwavering love. It's so wonderful to have friends who have your back, anytime and anyplace. Some of you we haven't interacted with in years. And then there are those of you whom we have not even met. Your spirit of giving from your heart has touched us deeply.

I must give a special thank you to my coworkers and executives at Pernod Ricard as well as Brandi's team at She Said Yes Bridal. Their contributions are not recognized in the total dollar amount on this site, but significant in allowing us to focus on Brandi's day to day and moment to moment medical needs.

Thanks also go to Joe and Shannon Quinn for initiating, designing and managing this site to raise money for Brandi's medical expenses.

To all of you, your spirit of generosity has made an impact on us and changed our lives forever. We plan to "pay it forward." This journey has strengthened our faith and provided us a new purpose.

God has put in front of us a goal to raise enough money for the Arkansas Children's Hospital to purchase another ECMO machine : the machine that saved Brandi's life by bypassing her lungs so they could heal. The number of ECMO machines is limited in this state, and we want to help provide this life saving device so that even more lives can be saved.

It's with God's grace to report that Brandi has fought back hard and is with us. After two and a half months in ICU in a medically induced coma and on life support (38 of those days on ECMO) she is now out of the coma, out of ICU and now in a specialized room where she can continue to heal and begin rehab. She is a warrior princess. A week ago she spoke her first words. Over the last few days, I had to cry and admire her determination. With the help of several rehab nurses, she went from her bed to a wheelchair, stood up from the wheelchair onto a walker and then she took a step.

One step that spoke volumes about her commitment to recovery.

Tag turns nine months in just a few days. He also is standing and has recently taken that first step. The emotion of them both taking their first steps together overwhelmed me. All is not roses every day, and she has a ways to go, but her strong faith in the lord, positive attitude and motivation, will get her home very soon.

To each and every one of you : I can't Thank You enough!!!!
Where there was no light, there now is light.

Brandi, Tag and I count our blessings everyday as we move forward. She has a formidable road ahead. Together : with your continued prayers, love and support : we can make it happen.

God Bless You!

Chris
