I have just completed my first year down in Guatemala working at a children's home and will be returning for another year!
i would have to write a book to share all the amazing things that have happened since I have been down there this passed year.
Guatemala has changed me as a person and I will personally never be the same. I get to see every day the effect that I am having on the children that live there and the people that come to visit.
We are so fortunate, even through the heart aches and the troubles we face here in the US it doesn't compare to the things that people, especially young people, are facing in Guatemala.
I live at Casa Alleluya, a children's home that provides a safe place for children that have been abused and neglected to live. They are well taken care of and provided an education, which is rare in Guatemala. As they grow up they are given the opportunity to attend college as well.
