Br. Behjat Syed's Medical Fund

Aoa, On 30th of August our dear friend and the pillar of our community Br. Behjat Syed suffered from a massive heart attack during the evening prayers. He had no pulse for about 15+ mins. He was blessed & lucky to have a few doctors around him during the prayers who resuscitated him profusely until the ambulance arrived. He was touch and go for the first 24 hours and has not regained consciousness yet. His situation remains in critical condition. He was airlifted from St. Luke's Vintage, Spring TX to St. Luke’s Baylor Downtown Houston. As of right now he is undergoing testing and constant monitoring among many other medical procedures. Br. Behjat has three beautiful kids and an absolutely dedicated wife. We all know him to be an amazing person who has been an integral part of our community for as long as we can recall it. His medical treatment bills (not including loss of wages, therapy etc ) alone are expected to be in the $200K range. He will not be able to work for the foreseeable future as well. It is with great sorrow that we announce that our own  Dr. Behjat Syed has passed away on the evening of Friday the 7th.

Brother Behjat had been an integral part of the Masjid AlSalam community for many years.  He was an enthusiastic participant in numerous programs and activities at our masjid and was admired and loved by everyone that came to know him.  He will be terribly missed.

Dr. Behjat was the brother to Br. Midhat Syed, who is also a well known participant in various masjid programs and admired and appreciated for his services to the community.
