The Bowtie Boys 2015 Civil Rights Tour

Donation protected
On March 6, 2015 our Mentoring/Leadership Development Group,  "The Bowtie Boys", along with the newly formed, "iAM Girls" will take nearly 80 young people on an exciting four day educational and historic Civil Rights trip.   This will be a trip of a lifetime for them and we would appreciate your financial help to make this a reality.

We're $5,000 short of our goal.  We can make it with your help.  For example in the next three days if:
50 people would give $100 or
100 people would give $50 or
200 people would give $25 - we would make our goal and these young people would be forever grateful!

We will tour the cities of Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma, Alabama.    Planned events include attending the 16th Street Baptist Church where four young black girls were murdered in a bomb attack by the KKK.   We will also spend time at the famous Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham.

One of our most memorable stops will be the Edmund Pettus Bridge on the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday.   Alabama State Troopers attacked Civil Rights leaders as they approached the bridge in support of voting rights.   In Marion County, Alabama, we will lay a wreath at the grave of Jimmy Lee Jackson.   He was killed while attempting to protect his mother and grandfather from being abused by the local and state police.

Other notable stops will be in Montgomery to tour where Rosa Parks made her "stand" to sit and not relinquish here seat to a white man.    Then on to
Tuskegee University to check out the air fields where the Tuskegee Airmen flew and The George Washington Carver Museum.  We will end our day at Troy University and the Rosa Parks Museum back in Montgomery.

Can we count on you?

Thank you!
