I am proud to announce that I am the winner and your first representative ever of Miss Meatpacking Comedy Queen in New York City. I competed in a preliminary this past May and will be going to Nationals this upcoming August. It was a pleasure for me to compete in such a prestigious competition celebrating the things in life that make us laugh. There are so many negative things occuring in the world right now and at times, it can be scary; however, I have always relied on the power of laughter and love to see through the darkest of days.
As a gay man from South Carolina, I have always had a passion to perform, although, it hasn't always been easy. I am honored to represent New York City, as well as Columbia, SC, where I got my initial start, and Columbus, OH that helped me thrive, in a pageant that speaks directly to my soul. The art of performance does come at a cost though and I have never been the one to ask for help at this level, however, at this time, any donation would be much appreciated. Any thing given will go towards my total package which includes but is not limited to flights, accomodations, wigs, dancers, costumes, etc. to ensure my best is executed.
For those of you who do not know about Miss Comedy Queen, it was created in 2005 by April Fresh and Roseanne DeShanaro because they wanted to bring a comedy pageant for female impersonators to a larger audience. The first Miss Comedy Queen pageant was held in August of 2005 in Orlando and has grown exponentially over the years into one of the biggest and most popular drag pageants for queens who are looking for an outlet to express their humor and creativity. Miss Comedy Queen continues to grow with the addition of preliminary pageants that are held all across the country!
