Memorial Bench for Bob Smith

We thank each of you for helping us achieve our Memorial Bench goal! We couldn't have done it without you! We are no longer accepting donations.

The bench will probably be installed at Heritage Park in the Spring of 2018 (as the park is almost closed for the season).  Once the bench is setup, we will email pictures of it, along with directions so you can find it.

We will use any additional funds to purchase a framed Max Jacquiard train picture with a memorial plaque in Bob's name. Heritage Park said they will hang this picture in a common area, where the employees can enjoy it for years to come.

Bob, Dad, Grand Dad, he loved trains and he loved Heritage Park. 

Our Go Fund Me Goal is to raise $3,250 to buy a memorial park bench near the trains at Heritage Park with Bob’s plaque on it.

When Bob was a young man, he wanted to join CN Rail to work on the trains. Due to a slight color-blindness, Bob’s dream of working on the Railroad was dashed.

For the past 8 years, Bob has worked at Heritage Park.
The first 5 years, he helped with tours at the historical Railway Car Shops. Over the next 3 years, Bob realized his dream of becoming a train conductor at Heritage Park. Bob loved Heritage Park, and he loved telling stories of Heritage Park and his trains. Not only was he a phenomenal train conductor, but he was also a good-will ambassador, truly loyal, and a dedicated employee for Heritage Park.

Now that he has passed, we want to carry on his legacy and share his love of Heritage Park with future generations. From the bench, families will be able to sit and watch the trains go by, as he did many times. Who knows, maybe Bob might even sit on the bench and watch the trains go by too...

With your help, we can ensure Bob will always be where he loved to be, and always able to watch his trains.
