Billie’s Battle Against Cancer

There is nothing we go through in this life that can prepare us to hear the words "you have cancer". My name is Billie White, and I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive Cervical cancer in March. I am a mother of two amazing daughters, Brandy 20 and Brittney 16 who are the light of my life. Since my diagnosis our lives have been turned upside down, much of our time is spent either in hospitals or researching treatments and protocols. For my girls instead of focusing on the things young girls should, they spend much of their days worrying about me. Brandy calls me several times a day asking how I am feeling, trying to make sure I am not overdoing it at work. Brittney tries to mask her fears of loss and the financial strains this has put on our family. Instead of planning family vacations we spend much of our time planning the next weeks rides for doctors and managing an out of control budget. As a mom, nothing has torn me apart like watching them worry about things kids should not be worrying about.
I work a full-time job that I love, but is becoming harder and harder to do each day. I believe in the power of positivity and know in the depths of my soul we are going to beat this. Here is where I am asking for the smallest amount of help, staying positive and stress free is the key to beating a cancer as advanced as mine. I do my best each day to be thankful for the life I have and the family that supports me most days that is easy to do; however, that is becoming increasingly harder and harder to do. The stress from my symptoms increasing and the financial strain we are feeling is beginning to overwhelm all of us. The cost of any cancer treatment is debilitating for even the most financially secure, for a single mother it is down right out of the question. I have received help from all of my family that I am beyond grateful for, but it doesn't seem to be enough. I am reaching out with a heavy heart, begging for the smallest amount of help. I know that with the storms that have surged throughout our country the last few months most are in the same situation as we are, but for those that have the ability and can find it in their hearts to donate even the smallest amount, my family will be eternally grateful.
