In Loving Memory - Bill Hetrick

Donation protected
McAllenISD teacher Bill Hetrick died Saturday (8/13/16) morning.

Hetrick, a 72-year-old Navy veteran who retired in May 2015 from a 40-plus year teaching career, was walking to Stripes for a taco and the newspaper, since his car was in the shop, when he was struck by a vehicle at about 6:15 a.m. in the 4800 block of N. 10th Street. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he later died.

Hetrick’s teaching career was primarily spent at two schools, first Lincoln Junior High School and then Memorial High School for nearly the last 20 years.

Friends and teachers of Bill have gathered to create this gofundme page in efforts to help pay for any outstanding memorial/burial services, a dedication plaque at McAllen Memorial High School and any monies left over would be granted as scholarships to current McAllenISD students.

Our community was blessed to have such a wonderful educator and friend; he will be dearly missed. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.  Please feel free to share this page and any memories of Mr. Bill Hetrick.

On August, 20th at 7pm, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Memorial High School auditorium

“Every morning, I enjoy going to school, absolutely certain that I will enjoy the day.” Bill Hetrick
