My dog Biggiesmalls is a 6 month old frenchie who needed a cherry eye surgery on (10/15). The cherry eye surgery went very well. Although when we took him home the night of he ended up throwing up and he inhaled his throw up. Due to him throwing up and inhaling his throw up Biggie had a rough night of weezing and coughing causing terrible swelling in his upper throat. There was aspiration in the lungs clogging his airways which caused all the weezing.
Biggie then needed an emergency surgery on (10/16). He had to have a trachea tube inserted to help him breathe and to help release the fluids in his lungs. The doctors at Best Friends Veterinary did every thing they could for biggie and they helped biggie and my self out tremendously.
Biggie was doing SO GOOD today and he was on his road to recovery(10/17). Until We had to transfer biggie to an over night facility for the night because our original vet is not 24hrs. When He was in our hands, biggie got way too excited to see us that he ended up throwing up the entire car ride to the hospital. The animal hospital in selden said he was in bad shape when they got him and they believe he has aspirations in the lungs again. We were 5 steps ahead and this incident brought us back 10 steps.
(10/17 9pm to 10/18 9am) His cost for just tonight at over night care is at low of $1200 and at high of $1500 but thats if everything runs smoothly. I’m expecting it’s going to cost thousands more when all is said and done the next few days. But I am trying my hardest to take this one day at a time and one step at a time.
(UPDATE:) I called the emergency service this morning (10/18) and Biggie is doing okay but he is having trouble breathing on his own with out the oxygen tank due to him keep getting excited like biggie always seems to do. They believe he still has aspiration in the lungs still in which takes time for it to clear out his body on his own. Both my Doctors at BestFriends Veterinary Care and At The Animal Emergency Hospital believe that another transfer could kill him. He is going to need to stay for another 48-72 hours. Which is estimated at low of $3500-$5500.(10/18 - 10/21)
(Update): Biggie had cardiac arrest and is unable to breathe on his own. He needs to be transported to a hospital that has a ventilator. To help him breathe until he finally can breathe on his own. They believe his Trachea Tube is clogged and his throat is already narrow due to swelling. He has a very high chance of dieing but I AM NOT GIVING UP ON HIM!
The reason why i started this Go Fund me is to reach out to my friends, family and all others for help. I am doing everything i can for biggie and i have never asked anyone for help until now. At this point, their is no amount of money i will deny to help save my baby boy.
