Big Ev's Big Battle

On July 24th, Evan Doucette, the man that everyone knows & loves, received the devastating diagnosis: he has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Leukemia is a type of blood cancer that begins in the bone marrow. "Acute” means that the leukemia can progress quickly, and if not treated, would probably be fatal in a few months. “Myeloid” refers to the type of cell the leukemia starts from.

Anyone who knows Evan could easily predict that he'll fight like hell, so it's not surprising that he started chemotherapy the very next day. Treatment is being received at Hackensack University Medical Center. Over the course of the last several weeks, he has undergone many blood transfusions and 2 bone marrow biopsies. Just wrapping up his second round of chemotherapy, Evan is still slated to return home on August 28th, where he will continue treatment. 

While Evan does have medical insurance, it won't cover everything. Additionally, there's an astounding amount of affiliated costs that go along with undergoing medical treatment of this severity.
