I was fired from my job as a parts manager during the height of Covid in April. Their claim is that I issued fraudulent credits to a customer. I'v been with this company for 8 years and in the business for over 30 years. The customer in question has lost a few of his large customers over the years and I credited him for saleable parts that he returned to help a loyal customer that has spent over 3 million dollars over the years, they are taking me to small claims court for $25000.00, I thought I could fight this on my own, but I am confused on how to defend myself and need to hire a lawyer. I was able to find another job, but it pays significantly less than what I was making and I am having a hard time making ends meet as it is. I'm asking for help on lawyer costs, this is a company with lots of money just bullying a Joe blow employee.
