Ben's Cancer Medical Fund - No Cure

Hello to you!  My name is Ben!

I've been diagnosed with a Leukemia called "Multiple Myeloma."  However, the Doctor's say that I have a more aggressive form of this cancer which is harder to treat.  With this in mind it's also called "Plasma Cell Leukemia."  By definition, my cancer has NO CURE.  Try living with that!  Most people only survive 2 to 5 years with this cancer.

I call myself "The Million Dollar Man."  I don't call myself this because I have a million bucks, rather, I call myself this because this disease has costed a million dollars to treat.  Try living with that!

I have certainly been through the gamut with this disease.  I have suffered from spinal compression, hip replacements (both left & right), shingles (twice), osteoporosis, deep vein thrombosis (blood clot), and the list goes on and on.  I went through a "Bone Marrow Transplant" (Allo) and lots of chemo along the way but that didn’t seem to last very long.  Recently I had to have radiation to get rid of a tumor on my left shoulder called a “Plasmacytoma.”

I don't tell you this stuff for you to feel sorry for me.  It is what it is and I just deal with it the best I can.  But the fact remains, this cancer has caused a great deal of financial burden not to mention much physical and emotional pain as well.

I decided to give this campaign a try and ask for donations to help pay for Medical & Travel Expenses.  It is my hope that I can perhaps be included in a clinical trial but it would also be a costly hope.  I also have a dream to take a pilgrimage to Europe with my wife and 2 kids.  But for now it just remains a dream.

This cancer has taken away my career, turned my life upside down, and will eventually will end my life way too early.  But before that happens I was hoping to raise enough money to seek a clinical trial and perhaps, realize my dream.  This leads to one problem: I can't do it without the help and support of some generous, kind, caring & loving givers.  I'm not asking for much from anyone.  You can help in one of 3 ways...
