Brian Voyles Benefit

Brian is married and has two beautiful daughters ages 14 and 19, and one grandson who is 7 months. He was born with a rare disease called "Wilsons Disease". This disease causes the body to produce more copper than the liver can process therefore causing cirrhosis of the liver. He was on a liver transplant list for 12 years and finally was called July 7th for a liver. There were complications removing Brian's old liver as it had formed so much scar tissue around the liver it took and extra hour and a half to remove. The new liver he received did not revive and he had to be put back on the transplant list with only a couple of days to live. Another liver became available within 24 hours and he was re-transplanted. The cost of one liver transplant is in the 250,000 to 300,000 range. He has medicare but it only pays some of the cost.
