MARCH IS MULTIPLE MEYLOMA AWARENESS MONTH />My husband and his youngest princess Dominique. We only have a little bit of time left before my husband goes in for his Stem Cell Transplant for over 21 days Please help. I am hoping there will be more of these precious pictures like this with him and not only his daughter but all of his kids. All of his kids are his life but Domi is his baby. Although she was old enough to attend our wedding I would like him to be able to walk his daughters down the aisle for their weddings. That is probably not going to be possible because as everyone knows there is no cure for multiple myeloma. So the dream I we may not be possible. There is one thing we can do to make sure he is around for a few more years and that is to continue the support for his life saving treatments. My husband and I were together for 13 years until we finally decided to get married and make our family one. This is a man who took on Three kids that were not even his and raised them as his own. He was one of the healthiest people I know, until he woke up one morning complaining of a very bad back ache something that was not usual for him to do. After a trip to the ER and xrays that went undiscovered they told him that it was just a pulled muscle and that it should be ok after lots of rest and medicine. But after 4 days it just seemed to get worse. On a day that we were supposed to be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and packing to go away for 5 days to our Happy Place the Borgota. He got up out of bed and collapsed to the floor. Because I was unable to pick him up and one of my oldest daughters heard him cry for help we had to call the ambulance to get him to the emergency room. Once in the Er the Doctor of 31 years, was stumped and what he saw on an MRI He told my husband that he had some fractures on his back that he could have only gotten if he were in a horrible accident and crushed, someone hit him in the back with a baseball bat 5 to 6 times or had 6 100 lb pallets fall directly on his back. So the Dr decided to admit him which forced them to other test asap. The next day a bone scan and cat scan were ordered and what came back from those results has and will change our lives forever. On October 13, 2013, My husband and our entire family faced a life-changing discovery "“ as did everyone who knows and loves him He was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a kind rare of cancer that attacks your bones and will eventually kill him. This is a cancer that usually isn't found by just an annual physical or blood work. This came on the exact day of our 1 year wedding anniversary Although he has been getting chemo since November and will continue to do so as long as possible, we may not be able to with no money and insurance. I refuse to just let him die and will continue to hope and pray that we meet the goal. We are also facing a Stem cell transplant which is over 150,000 and that is not including the 21 day stay at the hospital. He will not be able to receive if we do not get help and get it fast. Unfortunately if we don't get help we are going to loose everything my husband and I have worked our entire lives for. Please share with everyone, I am not going to give up until we meet the goal i have set. This will only put a dent in what we will need to keep my husbands treatments going and help us with everyday things that we need to keep him alive.Thank you for reading my story I hope you are able to help us meet this small goal.
