Two nights ago our wonderful neighbor Avery lost her best friend Belle. Colic has no rhyme or reason and is excruciating to see a loved partner go through.
Belle was a sweetheart of a horse, kind and gentle, and full of eagerness to hit the trail and see some sights! She accommodated barrel patterns and endless double rides. She said hello each morning and looked forward to the scratches and love she knew she was going to get from her devoted owner.
Avery worked very hard to take exceptional care of Belle. A clean pen, fresh feed and water, and a lot of time being brushed and loved on. Avery spends two days a week every summer working at a horse barn to continue her education as a horseman and learn how to be the best owner she can.
Losing Belle is a larger loss than just a pet. Belle is her first love, best friend, and passion. Belle took Avery down roads she wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Belle provided joy regardless of what else was going on in life.
Avery is about the kindest kid you’ve ever met, and I trust her with my animals without question. A few of us would love to try and bless her by starting a fund to help her get a jump start to saving for a new partner.
Every bit helps, and she has no idea a few of us are trying to help her, so if you feel able, please help us reach the goal for her!
