Mayan Research in Belize

I have been given an amazing opportunity through my university to travel to Belize for two weeks this summer. During my visit I will be working with anthropologist and assisting them in researching ancient Mayan civilizations. This trip is being made possible by the Mayan Research Program, a non-profit corporation that sponsors archaeological and ethnographic research.

I am currently a student at the University of Texas at Tyler pursuing my undergraduate degree in Mass Communication, focused in Public Relations. I am double minoring in Asian studies and Anthropology. Once I have completed my undergraduate, I plan to move forward and pursue my graduate degree in International Studies.

I am very passionate about cultural studies and would love to center my career around the field of international/cultural studies and research. Attending this trip would not only be an amazing, life-changing experience for me, it would also greatly increase my experience and expertise, preparing me for my future career.

My goal amount includes the cost of travel, required cost by the program, room and board, meals, research equipment, and other items I would need for this trip.

Thank you very much for any donation that is made. Anything helps and it is all greatly appreciated.
