Thank you to all our friends and family visiting this page. We want to let you know about an exciting opportunity coming up for us in Beirut this summer!
Starting in December, Kim took on the role of Director of Communications with a wonderful ministry Horizons International - a 24 year old organization dedicated to: Proclaiming the Gospel, Discipling the Nations, and Equipping the Church through international student outreach, church planting, training, discipleship and humanitarian efforts - with a special focus on reaching the Muslim community and discipling Muslim converts.
Starting in December, Kim took on the role of Director of Communications with a wonderful ministry Horizons International - a 24 year old organization dedicated to: Proclaiming the Gospel, Discipling the Nations, and Equipping the Church through international student outreach, church planting, training, discipleship and humanitarian efforts - with a special focus on reaching the Muslim community and discipling Muslim converts.
Horizons International has over 70 staff members across the world who are mostly self-funded. We have two main offices, one in Boulder CO (where Kim works) and one in Beirut, Lebanon. The Center in Beirut - Hope of the Nations - is currently busier than ever with record numbers of Syrians refugees coming through the doors. (Currently one out of every four people in Lebanon are refugees.) The MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Director in Beirut is incredibly busy with managing the MENA team and with the coordination of accommodating, serving and discipling all these refugees and converts from Islam.
That's where we come in, Tim and Kim want to travel to the center to help out the director with all the extra work, and by experiencing the culture, and the people impacted on the front lines, Kim will be able to better do her job in communicating the mission and heart of Horizons and what we do. Tim also wants to do valuable research that will help him in his PhD program. The unique situation in Lebanon with so many refugees and the impact they are having on the country provides a great opportunity to do valuable and insightful research.
The Cost - Because most of the staff is self-funded, we need to raise the money to cover travel costs and expenses while there. (all extra money raised will be donated directly to Horizons International)
Dates: July 15-27
Flights: $1,500 each
Living Expenses, Food, and Travel for one week: $1,000
TOTAL: $4,000
We are hoping to exceed our goal and present the center with a check for any extra amount raised. This will go directly towards helping refugees and converts.
We ask you to pray and consider supporting us in this endeavor. This is not a short term mission trip. We will be helping a long-standing Ministry and Center that is impacting lives and seeing people come to the Lord in record numbers. Read some of the stories from the center HERE.
ANY amount is welcome! We also welcome your prayers as we prepare for our trip. We thank you for your support and for helping us reach those in desperate need.
