Becca and Patty traveled to New England for a second-opinion consultation in Boston at Dana Farber. The good news is that no new tumors were discovered. However, minor growth in a few areas was noted and will be monitored. No chemotherapy now. Rather, Becca is being administered a new infusion therapy designed to cut off blood supply to the tumors. Treatments are 3 weeks apart. Becca will be staying in Connecticut with her aunt for the duration of her treatments in Boston. Becca will also be seeing a different family of doctors to address and hopefully resolve kidney issues from her illness.

The additional trips to Connecticut and Massachusetts are unexpected and present an additional financial challenge for Becca and Patty. I am making an additional appeal to you for contributions to Becca’s GoFundMe account,

Many of you have given multiple times – thank you! Whether you can donate again or not, I am asking that you share Becca’s need and GoFundMe account on your Facebook status/page with an appeal to support Becca. Below is Becca’s page information.

March 11
Great news! Becca and her Mom arrived back at their home in Florida for some much needed rest. Obviously, Becca was cleared by her physician to travel. It was a long, tiring drive. Becca will need to make a trip back to Boston for routine surgical follow-up.

If you have not donated just yet, please consider funding a meal, a night at a hotel, a tank of gas or tolls in Boston. It all helps them in their extended stay away from home.

March 2
I've posted an updated photo of Becca and her "Therapy Dog", Lucia! (I refer to her as St. Lucia). Becca is doing well. She and her Mom are still in Connecticut waiting for her next Boston appointment in early March.

February 24
I was struggling for words to deliver regarding Becca's surgery! Then, Becca posted to Facebook her status and details of her surgery. So, the following is directly from Becca on February 22, 2018:‪

"Hey everyone! Figured I’d give an update for those interested :)‬

‪On February 13th, I went in for my surgery. My family, friends, and I were expecting it to be a 4-5 hour surgery. I was brought to my room to recover after 8 hours of being under the knife. After having a full hysterectomy, a splenectomy, having 2/3 of my colon removed, a sliver of my stomach removed, and a bit of my pancreas removed, I’m beyond happy to say that my surgeons removed 98%-99% of my cancer! Everything down to the size of a pea was successfully removed! Since then, I spent my time recovering with an amazing staff. All my nurses and doctors were phenomenal, and I was so blessed to have them care for me. They were all so supportive and encouraging.

Today, I was finally discharged from the hospital after making incredible progress. I’m having minimal pain, my incision is very clean and healing nicely, and I’m getting stronger every day! I do have a few tubes in me still, but I anticipate having them removed soon! I’ll be returning in a week or so to find out what the next step is. I’ve been dealing with this since late summer, and I’m so excited to finally be feeling better!‬

‪I would like to say thank you to everyone for your prayers, good vibes, and financial support! All this love and support means the world to me.‬"

Please make a donation to Becca’s Go Fund Me campaign. At this point, her need is still travel related as Becca and Mom will be spending as many as 30 days  away from home for her surgery and recuperation. Please ask friends to visit Becca's Go Fund Me campaign as follows:

This "Go Fund Me" campaign is for my cousin, Becca Consolini, who is fighting cancer.

In October 2017, Becca, age 25, was diagnosed with  Ovarian Cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy near her Florida home to be followed by surgery at Boston's Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Please share this Go Fund Me campaign among your circle of friends particularly those sensitive to others fighting cancer.

Many thanks!
