My name is Sherrell Ogletree, and I am the founder of B.E.A.U.T.Y Mentoring Program, a unique program that promotes mental health and empowerment for girls ages 11-18. We inspire awareness through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions that encourage advancement and leadership. We enhance self-esteem, knowledge, courage, confidence, and personal development among young ladies across the Houston area.
We are partnering with First Metropolitan Church to host this program this year. The young ladies of B.E.A.U.T.Y. are diverse in ethnicity, age, social class, and education history. We nurture their dreams, believe in their visions, and motivate them to become vibrant future leaders through biblical principals such as integrity, humility, and honesty. B.E.A.U.T.Y. encourages them to be beautiful from within and to strive to live a better life from every angle.
B.E.A.U.T.Y. Mentoring Program will host our first annual “Redeemed Girls R.O.C.K. Empowerment Conference" at 8870 W. Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 8:00am-5:00pm. Our keynote speaker is renowned mental health advocate Dr. Jinneh Dyson-Williams. The conference is dedicated to developing teen girls ages 11-18, focusing on self-esteem, self-awareness, fitness, healthy living, and setting educational, personal, and professional goals. Each attendee can participate in workshops hosted by notable speakers, teachers, and coaches. Our committee expects at least 1500 attendees in the greater Houston area. This important work is largely sponsored by generous donors.
