Bmore Kappa League Beautillion 2015

Spende geschützt
On January 5, 1911, on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded upon the principle of Achievement.  As the organization spread beyond its Midwest roots, a chapter was formed in Baltimore for college alumni in 1921 by a group of doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, bankers and educators and quickly established a reputation for helping young people grow to be productive citizens.  The national fraternity instituted its Guide Right mentorship program in 1922 and, over the years, Baltimore Alumni’s version of the program has been considered the benchmark for the entire fraternity, earning awards and accolades for several Guide Right chairmen at Kappa’s regional and national meetings. Guide Right, the national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi, was created to help high school students choose meaningful careers consistent with the theme of Achievement.  In Baltimore Alumni’s hands, Guide Right has evolved to provide inner city youth with an organized program of activities designed to uplift them morally, socially, ethically, and spiritually.

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation of Metropolitan Baltimore, Inc. (KFMB) was incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 1995 as the charitable partner of the Baltimore Alumni Chapter.  The KFMB’s mission is to improve the quality of life of African American males, seniors and families in need residing in the Baltimore area by providing support for social programs, scholastic achievement and mentoring.

Through the KFMB the Men of Kappa Alpha Psi intend to make a difference in the lives of as many young men as possible through the Guide Right and Kappa League initiatives.  Its primary initiative, the Benchmark Kappa Youth Leadership Institute (BKYLI) helps high school aged young men become "Men that Matter” through professional exploration, academic achievement, community engagement and spiritual empowerment. Our Scholars' experience culminates in an annual Beautillion.

The BKYLI Beautillion signals our Scholars coming of age and commemorates their transition to manhood. With your help we can continue to “Build Men that Matter”- BENCHMARK KAPPA SCHOLARS!

We can’t do it alone.  We can’t reach every one of these young men…..Without YOU.

Won’t you help?  Act now – with your generous donation – so that another young man can have a future to look forward to!
