Beat Espinoza Cancer!

Those of you who know me well, know that I have spent years forming Relay for Life teams to help raise money to fight cancer. This year's Relay for Life will be focused on an individual family currently being attacked by cancer. . .the Espinoza Family. I am hoping everyone who reads this will join my "team" and donate to aid in this fight against cancer. Mr. Espinoza was diagnosed with stage III metastatic melanoma of the lungs, spine, ribs, femur, and brain in January 2016 and then diagnosed stage IV in June of 2017. He has not been able to work for quite some time, which has taken its toll on the family's finances. Mrs. Espinoza is on staff at the school where I work and often times must miss work to go to Stanford for her husband's appointments. They have three children, two at my school (3rd and 6th) and one in high school. Their 6th grader is not in my class, but I have taught her in different subjects during this school year. Just like the rest of her family, their 6th grade daughter is an upstanding, kind, and strong individual and deserves better than to worry about her father being ill. She and her siblings should be enjoying their childhoods opposed to wondering what treatment or symptom their father will be suffering from next. Mr. and Mrs. Espinoza are proud and self-sufficient people, and reluctantly agreed to allow this account to help supplement their loss of income during their difficult fight. Having beaten my own type of stage IV cancer almost 18 years ago, I know there is much more than hope for the Espinoza Family. I am quite optimistic that my friends, family, and colleagues will help this wonderful family in their struggle with cancer. Even the smallest donation will help.
