<div>What started as a dream between four friends fresh out of high school has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

<div>We wanted to create a game that rewarded creativity, strategy, and the thrill of watching your plans come to life. That vision became Battalia.Chess—a unique 1v1 tactical war game that blends army building, strategic combat, exploration, and unpredictability into every match.

<div>For more than eight years, we've poured our hearts into refining Battalia.Chess. What began as an idea on paper has evolved into a fully realized tabletop experience with a passionate community of players, organized tournaments, and appearances at major events, including Game Con Canada 2026. The incredible support we've received has shown us that this game resonates with people, and it's inspired us to dream even bigger.

<div>Before each battle, you'll also choose one of 80+ unique Special Abilities to define your strategy and shape the way you play. Whether you're looking to strengthen your army, surprise your opponent, or build around a specific tactic, there's an ability to match your vision.

<div>Special Abilities come in three distinct types:

<div>Passive Abilities that are always active, providing consistent advantages throughout the match.

<div>Timed Abilities that unlock after a set number of turns, rewarding careful planning and long-term strategy.

<div>Every turn presents a choice: Do you draw a card, or play without one?
</div>

<div>The card system isn't mandatory—it's a strategic risk-versus-reward decision. Players can choose to draw from the deck, gaining access to powerful or unpredictable effects, or skip the draw entirely and discard the card without ever revealing it. Sometimes playing it safe is the best strategy. Other times, taking the risk can completely change the course of the battle.

<div>Our card deck is divided into three categories:

<div>Positive Cards grant beneficial effects that can be used immediately, saved for the perfect moment, or even substituted for another card.

<div>Neutral Cards offer situational effects that can either be played right away or substituted if they don't fit your current strategy.
</div>
<div>Negative Cards introduce unexpected challenges and must be resolved immediately, forcing players to adapt on the fly.

<div>This system adds another layer of depth to every match. Do you gamble for a powerful advantage, knowing you could draw a setback instead? Or do you rely on your army and strategy alone?
