Barton Family Lilac Fire Relief

Donation protected

I am happy to relay to everyone that my parents*, Richard and Paula Barton are safe and have found temporary shelter but are still in shock after losing their home, personal and household belongings to the Lilac Fire on Thursday, December 7th.

Shortly after my mother left for work and without warning the fierce flames of the Lilac fire erupted, my father was directed to evacuate and immediately left with their dog minutes before the fire descended on the Rancho Monserate retirement community. This morning they journeyed back to find that everything they have earned and treasured over the 51 years of their marriage was lost to the fire, except for the very clothes on their back.

Many of you have already offered your help and support. My parents are simply grateful to their supportive family and friends during this difficult time. That said, if you are in the giving spirit this holiday season and would like to help them with their difficult task of starting from scratch, you can do so by gifting here.

Thank you to everyone for being there for my parents and supporting them through this trying time.

*I am Kenneth Barton from Newburyport, MA, oldest son of Richard and Paula Barton. I started this gofundme account to get my parents the immediate necessities they need to live while waiting to see what happens next for them.  All gifts will go directly to my parents to fund their immediate needs.
