My students need your help! Your donation will help my students take the trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica.
My Spanish students at Barton High School in rural Arkansas are not only learning how to speak, read, listen, and write in Spanish, but they are also learning about various Latin American peoples and cultures. To be able to experience a different culture first-hand would be extremely eye opening for my students, as many of them have never traveled outside the state of Arkansas, let alone outside the country.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for my students to apply what they are learning in the classroom to a real cultural experience in Costa Rica. This nine-day excursion will expose students to global perspectives, allow them to see the world through a new lens, and help them develop the interpersonal skills necessary to navigate new experiences with confidence, maturity and flexibility.
More than 80% of students at Barton High School receive free/reduced lunch. I would like for this opportunity to be accessible to all of my students, regardless of socioeconomic status. I hope you can understand why we are reaching out for your generosity and support. My students, colleagues and I will be fundraising money from now until March. With your help I know that we can meet our goal. I would truly appreciate all efforts to make this happen for our kids.
