                                                                 WE NEED YOUR HELP!

In September 2016 we bought a home in Winneconne, Wisconsin. After closing was complete we found that the homeowner had done a major cover up and that the home inspector had failed us. Our new home was uninhabitable due to toxic substances. For more than 15 months we fought a legal battle to right the situation, spending $22,000 on legal fees- and in spite of the fact that our lawyer was confident we would win, we lost! We have explored all other options in vain:  Filing against the homeowner would take many more months and would cost as much money as what would be awarded in the end. Although we have some equity in the home, our bank will not allow us to borrow against it because of the condition of the home. We do not qualify for Habitat for Humanities Restore program or any other similar programs because we must occupy the home to be eligible.
Since this is a civil case, local newspapers and news stations won't tell our story. Although the home has been damaged because of water, insurance is not liable. Allowing the house to go into foreclosure or selling the house as is...would mean our investment in the house would be lost, and we would have no place to live.
Therefore, we have chosen to do the needed extensive repairs at our own cost... because in the end we will have a home to live in. Initial estimates to repair our home were over $100,000. Since the closing in September 2016 we have paid the mortgage, property taxes, utilities, and home owners insurance and kept up the property. Our savings are exhausted, and we have no money left to do the required repairs to make our home livable.
We have five children, and our youngest, who is age three, has severe autism. Since June 2016 we have lived in Neenah with Miriam's mother, where we originally moved to help her as she became disabled... To help with care of her home, yard work, and other needs while we found and purchased a home of our own.
Shortly after our move we purchased the house in Winneconne, only to discover after closing the major problems that make our home unlivable. We have continued to live with Miriam's mom, with all seven of our family sleeping in one bedroom. We tried in-home therapy for our autistic son for eight months but had to move his sessions to a Therapy Center in Appleton... As the learning environment in the small home in Neenah was impossible. Our son could not focus during therapy, crying to escape to mom and other family, and many times having to end therapy early. In our own home, our son would have his own familiar space needed for therapy, and our other children would have room to play.
We know that God knows our situation. It is no surprise or shock to Him, and we know He will provide. We are grateful for your prayers, for physical laborers to help us work on our home, for helpful advice or guidance, and for your donations to our GoFundMe campaign. Would you be willing to be a blessing to our family and allow God to use you to help us?
