As many of you may already know, Barb lost her sweet husband, John, after a long fight with cancer last Friday. Many have asked how you could show your support for Barb during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we are setting up a Fund Me account to assist Barb with John's costly medical expenses. She is loved by many people and we are happy to provide this avenue as a way to honor John. Here is a little background on Barb & John' relationship:
John and I were best friends before being married for 25 years. Between us, we have 6 children(Brady Bunch kind of thing) and so far, 6 grandchildren.
John was an application programmer by profession. But the real John was nothing like the techies that you have seen – weird, sitting on their feet, brainiac…. Nope, John was a person that never wasted a day of his life. He lived and loved life to the fullest. If he wasn’t involved in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross or the Boy Scouts he was helping his friends when they needed it. One of the things that John taught me and changed me for the better was to give openly and freely of yourself – you live a life with meaning if you do.
John valiantly fought his lung cancer and almost beat it – prognosis was very good. However, in 40% of lung cancer patients, the cancer spreads to the brain. Once the brain cancer was diagnosed, he lived just three weeks.
