Chronic Lyme Disease Treatment For My Mom

I’ve been trying for years to convince my mom to let me do this for her, I’m still unsure if I have, but I’m doing it anyways, any and all help is INSANELY appreciated.

22 years ago my hardworking, ambitious mom was rendered unable to work, I was 3. She has not been able to re-enter the workforce since due to various chronic conditions. Not until the last 5 years did we know it was Chronic Lyme Disease.

My mom was adventurous, athletic, and her and my dad dreamed of a life on the lakefront. We spent every weekend every summer at the lake as a family, and just 2 years ago my dad finally was able to make the lake front lot happen. But due to my moms condition, she literally hasn’t been able to make it to the lake at all this year… it’s devastating having to go and enjoy her dream without her.

My mom has lived a life of chronic pain, with various debilitating conditions that affect the mind and body. These conditions left my mom searching for answers to her various symptoms, but with the lack of proper treatment for Lyme, we’ve experience little success. Because Lyme disease symptoms resemble that of so many other diseases (MS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, CFS, and many more) and because the conventional medical community continues to be misinformed about diagnosis and treatment, majority Lyme patients - including my mom - fail to receive the medical care necessary to restore proper health.

Over the years my mom has gone back and forth between treatments with the stigma of ‘it’s all in your head’ following her. With diseases that are mostly autoimmune and not outwardly visible to the public, it makes it very hard to explain why she simply can not do certain things.

Endless lists of drugs and doctors and treatments, lawyer bills, medical expenses, uncovered drugs; the costs have piled up over the years. Over $200,000 has been spent in various treatments, travel expenses for treatments etc. and it just keeps getting worse. Recently my mom’s doctor has found a ground-breaking treatment that actually seems reasonable and attainable called SOT Therapy. Any other beneficial treatments are out of country and up to 5x as expensive and longer. The biggest benefit to this SOT Treatment is that it uses your own blood to create an infusion therapy that is specific to each individual. The company is called integrative and they are based out of Vancouver. Blood samples are taken then sent to Germany, the leading country for Lyme to create a personalized infusion. Approximate costs are as follows..

-  Initial blood work: $1000
-  Re-Administered Lyme Confirmation Test: $1300
-  Infusion Development: $2700 + Administration: $1300 (**x3 now with 3 main bacteria to treat**)
-  Travel to Vancouver: $1500-$2000

If this treatment gets my mom closer to being the person she was before all the chronic pain and illnesses, then we are going to take that chance. With the pandemic hitting my fathers workforce hard, he is currently on workshare and income has greatly depleted so it is getting difficult to keep the funds coming enough to afford various treatment programs.
