--In less than a month, the Visayas region of the Philippines was struck by a 7.2 Earthquake, a tornado and now recently the Super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
--We are talking about devastation, death, hunger and grief in epic, massive, proportions specially in the areas of Cebu, Bohol, Leyte (Ormoc and Tacloban), Samar, and Iloilo.
--Proceeds from this fundraiser will be channeled to those unsung private sector groups in Cebu who are right now distributing relief goods and medical aide to all the Typhoon stricken areas in the Visayas including refugees who are now housed in Cebu.
--All the funds they have been using for buying, packing, sending and delivering goods to the areas themselves are through their own pockets and people in their network.
-- Their first hand reports on what they encountered and experienced in the last few days depict intense emotion that only those who have seen it can truly understand.
--Being a Cebuano/Visayan overseas, I was inspired by such friends who have initiated relief operations to the affected areas on their own personal efforts.
I want to do the same and support them.
WE are not government supported,
WE are not organizations,
WE do not get international funding.
But we want to help.
Let's support the Visayans in their RELIEF efforts, to help REBUILD their cities, and RISE.
Bangon Visayas!!! (Rise Visayas!!!)
