Baby Lucio Grady Heart Surgery Fund

On September 16, 2014 Monique and Garridon Grady were blessed with an amazing beautiful boy, Lucio Grady. Our family is very honored to have this beautiful child come into our lives. Lucio Grady was born with Down Syndrome. This was not expected but embraced with love by everyone. His smile melts your heart and his beautiful eyes say I love you. These are uncharted waters for Monique, Grady and the family but with love and support they can get through anything!
Children with Down Syndrome can have multiple medical problems now and in the future. Newborns with DownSyndrome are also at a higher risk for certain complications. Almost 50% of newborns with Down Syndrome are born with heart defects. Monique and Grady are now starting to see some of these hurdles. When Lucio was born he did have some heart defects and he was being watched very closely to see if the defects would resolve on their own. Unfortunately they did not resolve completely and Baby Lucio is going to require open heart surgery next month in December. If anyone has spent anytime in the hospital or is going through a medical condition you know how expensive healthcare can be even with insurance. Also, working in the healthcare field I have seen the burdens that medical bills have caused and have listened to the stories that are just heartbreaking.
Lucio is going to need specific health care needs above and beyond standard medical care. I would love for everyone to come together and help take some of the burden off of Monique and Grady’s shoulders. Along with the emotional support, the financial support is also greatly needed and appreciated.
