Hello Everyone,
 
My name is Daicy Navarro and I am raising money for my cousin Elizabeth Ruiz and her unborn baby girl. Her journey to become a parent started four years ago. She had many challenges including 3 miscarriages and a diagnosis of a bicornuate uterus. She is now currently with her fourth pregnancy and her due date is 9/26/2017. She has been placed on bed rest due to the high risk of another miscarriage. 

The pregnancy has progressed and mom and baby were doing well, but recently she has been given some news that her little girl has a rare congenital heart defect called Taussig-Bing Syndrome which includes a large hole between two heart chambers and an incorrect connection of the aorta. 

The doctors have informed her that in order for her baby girl to live she needs heart surgery as soon as she is born. Her current neonatal cardiologist located by where she lives in Fresno, CA has recommended that she deliver at UC-San Francisco Medical Center due to the complicated nature of her baby girl's heart condition.

The cardiologist informed her that in order to increase her baby girls chances of survival she needs an experienced cardiologist who has repaired such rare heart defects, and an advanced medical facility. Where Elizabeth lives right now in Fresno, she does not have access to such a medical facility or experienced surgeons. 

Elizabeth is not currently working and facing a tough financial situation. The cost of living in San Francisco is expensive in comparison to where she lives now and we are uncertain of her furture medical costs. She currently still has health insurance from her employer but is at risk of losing coverage since she is on bed rest and unable to work. 

My goal is to raise money for her room and board in San Francisco, travel costs, and medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance. As a mother myself I can't imagine having to face the decision whether to stay in Fresno due to financial reasons and risk my child's life or go to San Francisco to get the surgery done. I am hopeful that her journey into parenthood touches your heart like it has mine and you join us in repairing baby girl Ruiz's heart.
