For those of you who don't know our story, here is a little background. My name is Cody Shadle and I am the proud father-to-be of Lennon Paislee Shadle who will join our family in October of this year. We already have one awesome 8 year old that we call Jr. (Or Stinkbug and sometimes just Jose' - cuz that's his name). Jr's dad is out of the picture, but man I love that kid! He's always got a smile on his face! He's the son I've always wanted.
Shilah and I sadly lost our first baby due to a miscarriage in the first trimester. Now Lennon is determined to have her mom take it easy the month before she's born - a month without pay, which puts some strain on the finances. Even after she's here, maternity leave doesn't pay full wages.
I'm on disability for severe Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis, AS, Pancreatic Insufficiency, and many other Bodily Complications - autoimmune disease and much more affected my school years - it's hard to keep up when you're out for days/weeks at a time; My jobs - again with the absences and the need to 'excuse yourself' sometimes 10x an hour to hit the washroom. One plus though is that I'll get to be a stay at home dad for my kids. All I've ever wanted for as long as I can remember was a little family of my own. I am truly blessed!
We aren't asking for much. Just help with one month's rent so our little family can get through maternity leave with a little less stress. $20 from 50 people is all it would take. Even if enough people gave $5 it wouldn't take us long to get there!
