Baby D's Baskets of Love

As spring is right around the corner, we were looking for a way to remember our Baby D. With his Birthday and Anniversary of his death both being in May, we thought it would be great to provide baskets of goodies to the children & families at Lurie Children's Hospital in his memory.
As you know, Baby D spent many days there this past spring before his passing. His very first stay, all the way back in 2005, was when he received his Liver Transplant. For the next 8 years he was treated by Lurie's. Each stay he was provided with so many great gifts, toys and craft kits to try and cheer him up and make things a little bit easier. Whether he was playing body part bingo, or special requesting painting easels, it always brought a smile to his face. And he was always so grateful.

In his honor we would like to provide as many "Baskets of Love" to as many children as possible. Let's not forget all the Moms and Dads too, they need goodies just as much as the kids do! Our goal of $3,000.00 would be able to supply 50-60 baskets to Lurie's. This is where you can help! By making a monetary donation, we will be able to purchase supplies to fill our baskets. To give you some perspective, we plan on filling the baskets with the following items;

gift cards to purchase lunch in the hospital cafeteria

travel size hygiene products (shampoo/ conditioner/ lotion/body wash/deodorant)
earbuds
sudoku books/crossword puzzles/books

items listed on the "wish list" located on Lurie's website.

Rainbow Loom with bands/How to loom instruction books
painting kits
Google Play/Apple gift cards
build a bear stuffed animals

If placing a monetary donation cannot be done, perhaps there would be other ways for you to help out. Donations for any of the above items will be excepted as long as all are in new un-opened packages.
Please help us in celebrating Baby D's life by giving back to the place that allowed him to be a kid, even in his final days. Although it was hard for our family and has been very difficult during the last 8 months, we can only hope to brighten a child's day the way Baby D brightened ours.
