Help Baby Christian and His Family
Kelly and Scott just had beautiful newborn twins, Greenlee and Christian, and already have the sweetest 5 year-old little boy, Josh. But their lives went from happy to heartbreaking in the past couple weeks.
From the moment baby Christian arrived, every parent's worst nightmare began. First, he wasn't breathing and suffered major respiratory distress that required intensive medical intervention. Soon the doctors diagnosed him with two severe forms of Craniosynostosis, a life-threatening brain condition. That means his brain has no room to grow - and it's currently growing out of the front and side of his head. To survive, very soon he'll need neurosurgery.
Christian's condition means his head, face and eyes are deformed. So after his neurosurgery, he'll need cosmetic surgery for his facial defects and eye surgery to reset his eyes. And sadly now Christian is showing signs of seizures and brain damage. As you can imagine, despite having insurance, they are facing hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills to save their baby boy.
And now unexpectedly, Scott must be away from home for the next year! So Kelly is suddenly on her own with their newborn twins, with Christian who requires 24X7 specialized care and little Josh - who's still trying to make sense of all the changes. Kelly will even be handling their family's upcoming move next week completely on her own. And doing her very best to be mommy and daddy until Scott gets back.
We all prepare for life's surprises, but NO ONE can prepare for something like this. In a million years, Kelly and Scott wouldn't reach out for help. So as someone who loves this wonderful family, I'm doing it for them.
