Hello, Everyone!
We are Will and Clare Berlin, and we are humbled that you would consider playing a part in helping our family grow.
We have been married for nearly four years, but we first met and fell in love in high school. Over the years, our thoughts and daydreams have often turned to what our family might turn out to be like. We picture days filled with pancake-making and picnics, hiking trips and travels around the world, arts and crafts as well as science experiments, finger paintings, mud pies, stories at bedtime, and all the other glorious messiness that makes a loving home a loving home. And though we have certainly enjoyed having a decade of love and fun all to ourselves, we have also felt our hearts yearning for children, yearning to spread that love to little ones who we might teach and learn from, love and be loved by, and fully embrace and support throughout all that life can throw our way.
The possibility of adopting has always been on our radar. It actually came up fairly often in our discussions about having a family even when we were dating. As we fell in love, got engaged, and were married, we dreamed about having biological children and then pursuing adoption. Over the last year, we experienced the trial of infertility and eventually found out that, barring a miracle, we are unable to have biological children. Though this was hard news at first, we have always had the expectation that our family would look like a patchwork quilt. The last year simply helped us find out whether any of the squares would look like us. It turns out they won’t, but that is all right. We will still have our family.
Now, we are asking for your help. If you are able, please consider chipping in to bring home Baby Berlin. We know that 'It Takes a Village,' and we feel lucky enough to believe that there are a LOT of villagers who are just as excited as we are to love and embrace this little one and support his/her long journey to our open arms.
