Pelvic Floor Education in Exercise

Donation protected
Have you ever "leaked" or "lost control" during exercise?

Do you know whether you should be exercising or not?

Did you know that a lot can be done to help women decide what exercises they should be doing?

Did you know that incontinence affects 1 in 4 Australians and cost $43 BILLION dollars in 2010.

Did you know that pelvic organ prolapse affects 3 in 4 women during their lifetime and is the leading cause of incontinence (70% of pelvic floor dysfunctions).

There has been research that looks at exercise and the effect on intraabdominal pressure but the weights involved are nowhere near what my patients look at - I have patients who can deadlift 160kg and squat over 100kg below parallel.

Therefore, I have developed an education program to help bridge the gap between the physios expertsin Continence, Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy. This program will mean that everyone who attends can get high quality information and practical experience in exercise without cost being an issue.

Raising funds for this cause will go towards the cost of hosting these courses, paying presenters for their time, and paying for things like travel and accommodation. The dream is to take this around the world to help those who exercise improve their knowledge of the issues and address any dysfunction they have.

The seminars will be by booking and donation. Attendees to the courses will be asked to donate to this website to help fund the spread of this important information to hopefully affect the more than 4 million women who are affected by this problem.

The first of these courses was in Perth at CrossFit Cuties in November 2014. The usual cost of this seminar is $165/person. Lori Forner (Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist) from Axis Rehab in Brisbane presented with Antony Lo The Physio Detective (APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist).

The goal for 2015 is to get to every capital city in Australia but we need your help!

Any amount you choose is acceptable and is appreciated.

Thank you
