For over 50 years Bay Vista has created partnerships that inspire and enable families to "Leave a legacy for the Next Generation." We are raising money to finish the renovations on Lisbon Vista Village, a new Community Center in the heart of Southeast San Diego, an area that has been riddled with civil unrest, gentrification, and vandalism. We have never asked for monetary help, or donations, but with the current state of the nation our Black Owned Non- Profit organization is in jeopardy.
In 1966 Bay Vista began as one of the first large housing developments of its kind in Southern California, conceived to serve the housing needs of San Diego's Black community. Bay Vista is dedicated to changing the lives of the communities we serve by primarily, providing safe, affordable, and attractive housing. To further support the community, we enlarged our operations to build resources that support the growth of entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and educational opportunities. With your help we can continue supporting programs and community development which promote the growth and wellness of San Diego.
In December 2019 Bay Vista acquired the commercial building previously known as the Encanto Boys & Girls Club. Renamed Lisbon Vista Village Community Center (LVV), our center is dedicated to supporting our community through entrepreneurship, social programs, and educational opportunities. LVV reflects Bay Vista’s continuous investment in a vibrant, diverse, and culturally rich region of San Diego.
With your donations, Bay Vista plans to:
• Construct child focused restrooms
• Build out daycare facilities, complete with toddler and infant rooms
• Complete dance studio for our afterschool programs
• Resurface our gymnasium
• Update a failing 60-year-old roof
