Beat of Your Own Drum 2018

Hi! I am Sophie Schmitz, a junior at Carondelet High School. I have started my own organization, Beat of Your Own Drum, in support of schools with inadequate music programs. Although it is often looked at as "academically unimportant," music education is a vital part of development both intellectually and as a person. Last year, I raised $1,200 for the Fair Oaks Elementary School music program and it was fantastic! However, this year, I'm looking to double if not triple that for the Westwood Elementary School this year. My fundraising event this year is a benefit concert that will be held at the Danville Station Club House on September 29th, 2018.
