Belmont HS Pool Timing System

I have always been curious why our Belmont pool doesn't have a working time system . The sport of competitive swimming is purely based on time. If a swimmer comes in 5th place but can see they just swam a personal best that's the motivation to keep working and improving!
We would like to see about getting one installed . I received an accurate proposal from Colorado Time systems (quality co) . What our pool needs is a 6 lane scoreboard with linked touchpad's and all the necessary equipment, including installation. This capital expense comes to $20,000.
The Sport of swimming is strong in Belmont and we feel it is only right that our pool be outfitted with an official Time System scoreboard. For the athletes , the spectators and the officials it is a must . Many of our High School and Club swimmers have goals to swim in college .
So far we have financial support of the Belmont Boosters in a very meaningful way . We have financial support from the Dolphin's swim team in a big way as well. The BATS swim team has committed some support to kick start the effort.
With their generous donations we are already more than half way to getting this done in short order .
Jim Davis the Athletic Director of the BHS loves the idea and knows its a benefit to the pool. The school committe is completely engaged in a much larger proposal for an entire new campus . So raising the balance of these funds privately is how we will make the new Timing System a reality .
We would love to raise the $7000 in private donations necessary before the end of the year so we could have this installed for the Boys HS Swim season , Dolphins Meets and any other event that could benefit .
