Hola, les presento a mi amiga, su nombre es Uriana Arrieche, ella tiene 24 años y los últimos 10 anos los ha pasado enfrentando una increíble batalla de salud. Padece de LES o LUPUS ERITEMATOSO SISTÉMICO, lo cual ha desencadenado a lo largo del tiempo un adenoma paratiroideo, hiperparatiroidismo, tumoración bucal e insuficiente renal grado V.

En 2016 fue sometida a trasplante renal pero su cuerpo lo rechazo porque la atacó la escherichia coli ocasionando la pérdida del riñón que le había donado SU MADRE. Después de esto, Uriana volvió a la hemodiálisis, perdiendo peso y la pérdida total del cabello, emocionalmente fue muy duro para ella vivir esa desilusión, pensando que iba a estar bien de salud pasando por dos intervenciones de alto riesgo, la enorme cicatriz en su abdomen, asi como, que su madre pasara tanto dolor por ella y que ni ella ni Uriana hayan podido cumplir sus objetivos. Su madre quería darle vida después de la vida para no verla sufrir más, para que al fin Uriana pudiera sentirse realizada de nuevo cumpliendo sus sueños de estudiar y de estar una persona sana.

Sin embargo, mi amiga Uriana no se rindió y aceptó su condición de someterse a diálisis y se adaptó a un estilo de vida con alimentación especial para sobrellevar la enfermedad. Pero todo empeoró a inicios del 2019 por la aparición del adenoma paratiroideo. El hiperparatiroidismo le ha ocasionado el desarrollo del tumor bucal, deformidades óseas y disminución considerable de su estatura. En enero de 2020 le hicieron una densitometría ósea que arrojó como resultado un 58% MENOS de su masa ósea y 56% MENOS de su masa muscular desde que inició la enfermedad renal a sus 14 años. Hoy en día mi amiga con 24 años mide 1.53 cm de altura comparados a los 1.61 cm que media cuando tenía 15 años. Fue valorada por un especialista, quien determinó que no basta con extirpar el adenoma, sino que requiere trasplante renal para poder detener definitivamente el problema.

Al día de hoy el tumor ha alcanzado un tamaño considerable, al punto de que Uriana ya no pueda cerrar completamente su boca, de que sus labios ya no se puedan tocar, sus dientes están separados y como el tumor creció hacia arriba y hacia adelante también le desvió el tabique nasal, por ende, está teniendo dificultades para respirar. Por las noches Uriana duerme con un ventilador encendido que direccione el aire a su cara para poder dormir bien. Sin embargo, viviendo en Venezuela, no siempre tiene noches tranquilas ya que al no contar con energía eléctrica a veces por hasta 6 horas o mas, se despierta fatigada, con falta de oxígeno hoy en dia ella dependende de la bombona de oxígeno.  

Las complicaciones de Uriana han ido apareciendo con el pasar de los años. Su operación para extirpar el adenoma paratiroideo y tumor bucal fueron suspendidas a raíz del plan de contingencia por el COVID-19. En estos ultimos meses el tumor ha crecido impidiéndole cerrar la boca y respirar tranquila. Su familia estan  canalizando la posibilidad de realizar el trasplante y tratamiento en España or Venezuela pero requieren de aproximadamente $30.000 dólares para la cirugía del tumor y el trasplante renal.

A pesar de la situación que pasa en España por la situacion COVID-19, mi amiga y todos los que la acompañamos tenemos nuestra fe y esperanza puesta en ese país. De no cumplir con su meta el tumor seguiría creciendo al punto de ocasionar lo inevitable.

Deseamos de todo corazón que Uriana logre estar sana para que cumpla sus sueños y eso solo lo podremos lograr si nos ayudas colaborando con su causa.

Hi, I would like to introduce you to my friend, her name is Uriana Arrieche, she is 24 years old and has spent the last 10 years facing an incredible health battle. She suffers from SLE or SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS, which has triggered over time a parathyroid adenoma, hyperparathyroidism, mouth tumor, and insufficient renal grade V.

In 2016 she underwent a kidney transplant but it was rejected because she was attacked by the Escherichia coli causing the loss of the kidney that her MOTHER had donated to her. After this, Uriana went back to hemodialysis, losing weight and total hair loss. Emotionally, it was very hard for her to live that disappointment, thinking that she would be healthy going through two high-risk interventions, the huge scar on her abdomen, that her mother would go through so much pain for her and that neither she nor Uriana would be able to achieve their goals. Her mother wanted to give her Life as not to see her suffer anymore so that finally Uriana could feel fulfilled again by fulfilling her dreams of studying and being healthy.

However, my friend Uriana did not give up and accepted her condition of undergoing dialysis and adapted to a lifestyle with special nutrition to cope with the disease. But everything got worse at the beginning of 2019 due to the appearance of parathyroid adenoma. Hyperparathyroidism has led to the development of the oral tumor, bone deformities, and a significant decrease in height. In January 2020 she had bone densitometry which resulted in 58% LESS of his bone mass and 56% LESS of his muscle mass since the onset of renal disease at age 15. Today my 24 years old friend is 1.53 cm tall compared to 1.61 cm on average when she was 14 years old. She was evaluated by a specialist, who determined that it is not enough to remove the adenoma, but that she needs a kidney transplant to stop the problem definitively.

This day the tumor has reached a considerable size, to the point that Uriana can no longer close her mouth completely, her lips can no longer be touched, her teeth are separated and as the tumor grew upward and forward it also deviated her nasal septum, therefore, she is having difficulty breathing. At night Uriana sleeps with a fan on to direct the air to her face so she can sleep well. However, living in Venezuela, she doesn't always have quiet nights since she doesn't have electricity sometimes for up to 6 hours, she wakes up fatigued, with lack of oxygen and the only thing she can do is sit and do breathing exercises, everything to avoid being dependent on the oxygen cylinder.  

Uriana's complications have been appearing over the years. Her operation to remove the parathyroid adenoma and oral tumor was suspended as a result of the contingency plan for the COVID-19. In these more than 3 months the tumor has grown preventing her from closing her mouth and breathing calmly.

Her family has channeled the possibility of performing the transplant and treatment in Spain or Venezuela. She requires approximately $30,000 USD for her tumor and kidney transplant surgeries.

In spite of the situation in Spain due to the pandemic, my friend and all of us who accompany her have our faith and hope placed in that country. If she does not meet her goal, the tumor will continue to grow to the point of causing the inevitable.
