We came to this country together when our oldest was only 3 years old, with the hope of building a better life and giving our children a safe and dignified future.

<div>My husband has always done everything right. He has worked tirelessly to support our family and has never had any legal problems. His only “mistake” has been wanting a better life for us. Over the past two years, his health has declined. He has experienced fainting spells, severe chest pain, and numbness in his left arm. Even through this, he kept working to pay for our medical bills and basic needs.

<div>In January 2026, everything changed. He was suddenly detained without explanation while sitting in his car in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and transferred to Delaney Hall detention center in Newark. Since then, our family has been torn apart. I have not been allowed to give him his medications, and he has already been hospitalized twice while in detention. We are now fighting for his release through an emergency motion, but the legal process is complicated and very expensive, especially given his immigration situation.

<div>At home, I am doing everything I can to hold our family together. Our oldest son is graduating this year, and our baby is still so small. I’ve had to leave her in order to work a few hours, but it’s not enough to cover rent, food, medical bills, and now mounting legal fees. We were also devastated to be scammed by our first lawyer, losing money we desperately needed. We now have a new attorney and renewed hope - but we urgently need help to continue this fight.
