On Saturday, January 11th Robbie Jr. was injured during Lylah's birthday party. Robbie Sr. got up to grab the remote off the table right in front of him and in the 2 seconds that Robbie Sr. was up Robbie Jr. had jumped in the recliner head first with his little behind in the air and his head buried in the back of the recliner. He was trying to steal his daddy's seat (which is a game they always play and had never had any issues with before). Robbie Sr. only took 2 steps forward so he went to take the 2 steps back to sit down and when he did he almost sat on Robbie Jr. He realized what was going on but unfortunately, due to Robbie Jrs. very small size, that was just enough of a jar to him to cause the neck fracture and ligament damage.

I am starting this page to help with the expenses that are starting to put a strain on a family that is already spread very thin. One of them had to quit their job so that Robbie Jr. could have a full time caretaker. He will not be able to attend school or daycare for a long while. Crystal's job is where their health insurance is held and she has 2 weeks vacation available so Robbie Sr. put in his notice. Someone has to be at the hospital with Jr. all the time. The commute to Pittsburgh is about an hour each way. I was hoping to put any donations towards gas, food, the parking garage ($5 per day) and to possibly even allow Crystal to take FMLA for at least a couple of weeks after his surgery if needed. Also, now that they are down to 1 income they cannot afford daycare for Lylah. She will be with her dad/mom/family member depending on the day and who is where. Robbie Sr. is looking for side jobs and is going to work with a friend as often as possible on the weekends to help bring in as much income as he can while Crystal is with Robbie Jr. If she could take some time off work then that would enable them to rotate shifts at the hospital with Robbie Jr. and at home with Lylah. It would also give them the ability to attend his therapy sessions together so that they can learn how to take care of a small child with a halo brace.

This is going to be an extremely difficult time for this family and unfortunately it is a very long process. He could be in the hospital for up to 6 months just for this first surgery. A lot of it depends on how well he does with the halo and how quickly he learns to walk with it in place. He will also need another surgery to repair the ligaments in his neck. The halo is only repairing the fractured c2. Robbie Sr. and Crystal both work so hard and are excellent parents. Having their little one being put in a halo brace and knowing he will have to learn to walk again, not once but twice, is terrifying. I am stepping forward to ask anyone and everyone that is able to please donate anything you can to help them. No amount is too small and every little bit helps.

If you are unable to donate we completely understand and appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. Crystal and Robbie are not the type to ask anyone for help financially. They like to do things on their own but unfortunately the cost of this hospital stay was not something they had planned on. I will have any donations be sent to my WePay account (just like paypal). From there the money will direct deposited into my checking account and I will then withdraw the money and deposit it directly into their bank account. This way we don't have to worry about the refillable gift card. They will receive 100% of all donations with the exception of the small fee that the website charges. There is a link that explains that in detail. Crystal and Robbie will both have access to my paypal account and to the "Go Fund Me" page so that those of you who do not know me will feel a little safer about donating. Anonymous donations can be made as well.

I have never done this before but there is nothing i wouldn't do for this family. I have seen this work very well for families in need so I thought this would be the best way to spread the word. If you would like to send any cards or letters I'm sure Robbie Jr. would really enjoy that. If you would like to send Robbie Sr. and Crystal something privately instead; please message me for my address and I will see to it that they get the mail. I prefer everything come to my house so that it is not sitting in their mailbox. We are unsure as to how often and when they will be at home. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to read this and I thank you in advance for anything that you are able to help with.
