Ayah Sol goes to Costa Rica

To know Ayah is to love Ayah. She is wise beyond her years, charismatic, creative, kind, and has a love for Blackness, Culture, and Learning like no one I've ever met.  Please support her first potential international trip.

She was recently accepted into the World Scholars Program at her school.  You can find more information on the WSP below. This school year they are travelling to Costa Rica, and Ayah Sol desperately wants to go. We are responsible for fundraising for a portion of the costs, including me being able to travel with her. 

All monies raised here will be used to cover our fundraising obligation, fees associated with the trip such as ( passports and doctor visits), and to ensure that Ayah has some funds to explore the land and bring back souvenirs for her brothers. 

The World Scholars Program has as its ultimate goal the development of Village Leadership Academy’s (VLA) students into conscientious global leaders of tomorrow.  At the beginning of each academic year, our students’ education foundation is expanded through a year-long exploration of the socio-cultural, political, and economic histories of a Community of Focus e.g. Panama.  This cultural and academic journey culminates in an educational voyage to the Community of Focus. During this international expedition, our students engage in cultural exchanges with other children of the world, develop new friendships that extend beyond the boundaries of their communities, and acquire first-hand knowledge about the challenges that other communities face.
