Avalon's Italian Learning Intensive

Donation protected
Family, friends, and fellow travelers, welcome! I’m Avalon Bloodgood and I am raising money to fund my learning intensive in Mondavio, Italy! As some of you know, a group of students, myself among them, auditioned for and was accepted into the Music In The Marche program through Eastern Oregon University. I have been studying music and theater since I was 9 years old. My first lead as Annie in the musical Annie at the Elgin Opera House in 2008 seems like a lifetime ago. Since then, I have been in over 30 shows and musicals. Jamie Jacobson has been my vocal teacher for almost ten years and studying with her has lead to participation and subsequent wins in the National Association of Teachers of Singing at both the state and regional levels. I have spent the majority of my studies focusing on musical theater. Until now I have not had the opportunity to learn much about opera. I plan on becoming a vocal teacher while I pursue my dreams of performing onstage. Studying opera will allow me to develop better mastery over my voice as well as enable me to teach a wider variety of students. Music In The Marche will be lead by Dr. Nicole Hanig and Dr. Rebekah Hays along with faculty from Texas Tech University, Baylor University, Northwestern University, University of Louisiana, and Northern Arizona University. The program offers singers a one month intensive including two vocal coachings and two one-hour voice lessons a week, Italian diction, studio class, daily Italian language classes, weekly excursions, cultural immersion, operatic acting and scenes, plus Italian diction. Singers will perform in a minimum of four concerts as well as in master classes with guest artists. Students are housed in pairs within the small village community of Mondavio in the homes of host families. I know my financial goal is high, as are my career goals, but with your help we can do anything! All donations, small and large are welcome and I pledge to pay it forward! Please help me go with my peers and learn from the greats! ANDIAMO! LET’S GO! *If this goal is not met in time, all remaining funds will be donated to the Don & Lanetta Paul Music Scholarship fund at EOU. **Should any donor wish to remain anonymous, please make sure to choose that option when prompted. Since I won't get the chance to thank you later - THANK YOU!
