Ava's 7th Grade Capstone Project

Tax deductible

The students of LMS have been hard at work on their Capstone projects. This yearlong project is designed to take the place of student final exams.  The project is meant to empower students to think, create and implement ways that they can give back to their community.  Students have designated hours at school to work on their projects as well as in their free time. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who knows Ava  that she would want to incorporate her love of dance into this important project. This girl is all dance, all of the time! Ava has been dancing since the age of 3 and is trained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop and theatre dance.  Simply put, Ava lives to dance!

Ava came to her mom Kristen in September with her idea which was in Ava's words really wanting to “help kids who might be having a hard time paying for their dance classes." How could Ava use her passion for dance to help others?  From that initial idea and some brainstorming, Ava decided that we should reach out to a studio that might have a real need.  We know firsthand the financial responsibility that goes along with pursuing a dream, taking classes and lessons or just dabbling in a hobby.  After much research we found the Living Arts Dance Studio in Philadelphia.  This studio has created an amazing non profit foundation called Living Arts Dance Foundation.  This foundation assists it's students with scholarships, mentoring programs and low cost dance classes and tuition assistance  for underprivileged students. Living Arts Dance Foundation is so appreciative that Ava wants to assist them in supporting their efforts to help deserving students.

Ava decided that she would put on a dance show to raise funds for the foundation. So here we are! Ava will be putting on her show at Chester Valley Dance Academy on Saturday, April 28 at 3:00pm! In lieu of ticket sales for her show, Ava hopes to accept donations that will go directly to the foundation. Donations can be made (any dollar amount is very appreciated) through this GoFundMe site. The show should run no longer than 45 minutes to an hour and will highlight the history of 3 specific genres of dance.  Along with learning some history about these different genres Ava will be performing a piece from each specific genre for her audience to enjoy.

If your schedule and location permit we would love to have you join us at Chester Valley Dance Academy, Exton, PA on April 28 at 3:00pm! Please contact Kristen directly if you are able to make the show! If you are unable to attend the performance we understand and you can still help! If you wish to support the cause please feel free to donate here.  All donations will go directly to Living Arts Dance Foundation and are tax deductible..

Your support can make great things happen! Thank you for your consideration.

With gratitude,
Ava and Kristen
